One of the biggest mistakes people make when attempting to commit to new health goals is they don’t set attainable goals. It is normal to think you can fit in more tasks than your day will allow. You are completely capable of achieving your health goals for 2019 and here are 5 easy tips to get back on track with your busy schedule.
Drink half your weight in ounces of water.
Not only is this a great way to stay hydrated, but it’s also the recommended water intake for everyone. All you have to do is take your weight, divide it by two, then whatever number that equals to is the number of ounces of water you should drink in a day. Drinking a glass of cold water is also a great way to ward off and satisfy cravings so you aren’t as tempted to over-snack.
Figure Out Where Your Free Time Is.
Most of the time when setting new health goals, people have this idea that they’ll be able to wake up an hour early to get their workout out of the way. Working out in the morning has so many benefits, but it isn’t the only option. Take an honest look at your schedule and see where your free time actually lives. These are the time slots you should set aside for your exercise goals. If it takes you an hour to get ready for work in the morning, a 30-minute jog or yoga class isn’t going to make that any easier. Don’t overbook yourself and figure out where you can schedule your workouts.

Eat simple snacks.

Find a Friend.

It is so much easier to achieve your goals when you have a cheerleader along the way. You and your health are worth rooting for, so find someone who agrees!
Make room for grace.
No one is perfect and slipping up from time-to-time is all part of the process! If you find yourself in a situation a few weeks from now where you haven’t been keeping up with the goals you set, it’s okay! Make room for grace and move forward! One set back does not define your future success and health! Working in extremes and not giving yourself the grace to mess up will only lead to more failure in the future. Go look in the mirror, give yourself a pep talk, look over your goals again and keep going!
